Fit for the Future - urban strategies for the new normal

Introduction:

School of Human Settlements, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar is organizing its 5th Annual Research on Cities Summit from 10th – 12th February 2021.

The Speakers are

  • Mr. Marco Kamiya, Senior Economist, Knowledge & Innovation Branch, UN-HABITAT Global Headquarters in Kenya.
  • Prof. Fedor Kudryatsev, Professor at Moscow University and Director of Arch Nova Lab Moscow.
  • Prof. Philip Harrison, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Call for Papers:

The Covid-19 pandemic has brutally exposed fault-lines in our cities.  As the cities across the world huge losses in-terms of lives and livelihoods, deep-seated inequalities regarding access to health care, shelter, water, sanitation, safe mobility, and digital infrastructure has come out in the open like never before. But post-COVID-19 recovery also offers a great opportunity to re-imagine our urban future towards greater sustainability. We need a new roadmap to make our cities resilient against future shocks. The Fifth Annual Research on Cities Summit ARCS 5.0 by the XAHS, XUB will discuss, debate, and deliberate over the urban strategies for the new normal, so as to make our cities Fit for the Future. The conference would take place through online mode on 10,11 and 12 February 2021.

Registration

  • Registration fees for Students: INR 500/-
  • Registration fees for Faculties/ Professional: INR 1000/-
  • The Authors of shortlisted abstracts will be asked to register by making the payment of registration fees.
  • Only the presenting author needs to register for the conference.

Here at ARCS 5.0, we are particularly interested to explore how tensions, contradictions and collaborations regarding Fit for the Future urban strategies could be unpacked through the broad thematic areas noted below:
