The MURP Program
Two-Year Full-Time Master Program in Urban and Regional Planning
The ever-present need for Planners in the country has multiplied manifold and become urgent in the rapid urbanization in the country and the concomitant economic, social and infrastructural changes in the rural hinterlands. Moreover, with transformations in the Constitutional provisions for local governance, new modes of urban development overtaking the erstwhile state-led Master plan approach, and a renewed focus on regional planning, Planners equipped with more contemporary understandings and skills are needed.
XIM University has therefore launched an innovative and relevant Planning Program, in tune with prevailing national and international perspectives and approaches to urban and regional planning and development. Foregrounding participatory and developmental approaches, integrated considerations of equity and ecological sustainability, end-to-end solutions, and citizen-centered and inclusive planning, the MURP Program of XUMG is geared to developing Planners for a sustainable and just future.
